OmniCube CN-3000: Solution Overview
Are you looking to simplify your IT infrastructure? At the same time, OmniCube delivers a comprehensive set of data and infrastructure capabilities required for your modern data center. OmniCube CN-3000 systems combine CPU, memory, storage (SSD, flash, HDD), networking, and hypervisor capabilities in a powerful hyperconverged building block. A CN-3000, federation of geographically-dispersed OmniCube systems enables disaster recovery, business continuity, migrations, and data sharing within and across sites.
As a result of HPE SimpliVity’s Data Virtualization Platform, the solution enables you with the broadest scope of enterprise functionality delivered in a modular, x86 converged solution. It incorporates key elements such as global inline deduplication, compression and optimization at inception, built-in virtual machine-level backup, and centralized management of geographically distributed systems from a single interface. OmniCube hyperconverged infrastructure provides a radical simplification of IT by consolidating infrastructure functionality into a single unified stack running on hyperconverged x86 building blocks.
Data efficiency features in OmniCube ensure that only unique writes occur, reducing IOPS. HPE SimpliVity’s hyperconverged infrastructure reduces required storage capacity (primary, backup, and archive data), as well as WAN traffic. You also benefit from the ability to run an instance of the OmniCube Cloud data center on Amazon Web Services as a low cost target for offsite backup and restore. OmniCube CN-3000 for Multi-Site Management
Typically, you start with two OmniCube CN-3000 building blocks in a data center, adding incremental OmniCube CN-3000 units as requirements call for additional resources. Run all of your IT applications, including email, databases, file servers, office automation, and more on your OmniCube CN-3000 infrastructure.
For disaster recovery and off-site backup, deploy a third or fourth CN-3000 in a remote site with active-active topologies running across data centers. Your enterprise runs all IT on two OmniCubes CN-3000 systems in the primary data center and two OmniCubes in a secondary data center. Deploying a network of two or more OmniCubes creates a global federation that facilitates efficient data movement, resource sharing, and scalability. Management of the entire federation, within and across sites, happens from a single management interface.
For remote and branch office scenarios, deploy OmniCube CN-3000 systems at the hub data center and one or more CN-2000 systems at remote or branch offices. Dramatically increase operational efficiency by centrally managing all sites from a single, familiar management interface via VMware vCenter. This eliminates the need for other user or management interfaces to manage the environment. HPE SimpliVity also enables you to connect third-party servers running virtual workloads to the OmniCube federation for added flexibility and generational interoperability.
